Living one day at a time, and loving every minute of it!
I'm so very jealous. Maybe when we take you to the airport I'll just bring along my own bag and get a ticket... Sounds so tempting!
Hey Brooke! I've competely forgotten to post some things to do while you're out there until now! I'm sure you've taken advantage of the MANY things available at your finger tips. But in case you haven't done it all in two days, I'll share some of my favorite things to do in the big apple:1) Horse and Carriage ride through Central Park just before dusk..amazing.2) Taking the sight seeing buses around Manhattan. You TOTALLY loook like a tourist but you see so much more (and learn so much more) than if you attempt to do everything on foot. The even better thing is that you can get on and off whenever you want.3) Eating dinner at the top of the marriot hotel in Times Square. It's a lot of money and the food really isn't that good but the view is INCREDIBLE. It's one of my favorite memories!4) Going to see the broadway Lion King. I don't mean to be a downer but I saw wicked - and compared to Lion King, wicked was like fruit cake. ;) Amazing and WELL worth the money!5) Going to China Town and bargaining for a really cute purse. It's intimidating at first but then it becomes like a game! 6) Walking 5th Avenue. My younger sister, Auriel, visited us while we were out there. We walked 5th avenue and strolled through the stores we could only dream of shopping at. It was crazy! Belts were "on sale" for $500!7) Walking Brooklyn bridge at dusk. You have to take your camera! The view is amazing when you're walking from Brooklyn to Manhattan island. Breath-taking! There's a REALLY popular ice cream joint in Brooklyn. Ask around...everyone out there knows about it. Go get some ice cream to enjoy w/your sweetie while enjoying a nice stroll.8) Broadway in the park! This is a free opportunity to sample what's showing on broadway. It's in Bryant Park in the late morning, I believe. the stars of the shows come out and perform. It's pretty fun but be sure to take some water!9) Walking through Little Italy in the evenings...it's so romantic! Get some italian ice cream while your down there too! Yum!10) of course! Be sure to check out the big attractions: The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, The Empire State Building..so on and so forth. Be sure you get the head set every opportunity you can...there's so much good information. If you buy a CITY PASS you'll save a TON of money! You can get that at any of the big attractions.11) YOU HAVE TO EAT AT ESPN in Times Square. Their burgers are seriously amazing...the best we've EVER had! 12) Take the subway - even if it's just once! Get lost underground and try to find yourself (make sure you do this with enough day light to find yourself tho!) It will be fun!I could go on and on. It's so FUN out there! I hope you're having a blast and being safe! :) Be sure to post pics as soon as you can!Enjoy!Addy
